At a later point you want to hold on to your W and use it as an attack reset after he has used his E to not accidentally W autoattack reset into his E. If he jumps on you to trade with you he will use his W which has a low CD and hurts especially when he gets a sheen so you want to try to tap your W the moment he lands on you to avoid his damage and idealy trade back with one autoattack or two. Try to dodge his E with your Q, it can depend on luck sometimes since he can cancel his E at any time he wants but usually Jax players want to go for max duration so after 2 sec's or something you can Q him for a guranteed dodge. You want to make sure to trade at full HP only and depending on how much HP you lost you have to play passive and respect his trade potential.
Jax was a big counter to Yi in the past but today he can be dealt with a little easier.
